Paris - Norbert Fliess, 93, passed away at his home on January 13, 2018. He was born November 29, 1924 to Lawrence and Minnie (Brand) Fliess. Norbert first attended the Kellogg School and then graduated from St. John the Baptist School. His loved working for his whole life on the family farm which came to be called the Norbert and Jerry Fliess Farm. Norbert married Laydene Ann Prott on November 19, 1949 and together they raised six children. Norbert's family was most important to him and being with them was his favorite way to spend his time. He liked bowling, tending to his garden and fields, and traveling with Laydene. He was an animal lover and had many dogs in his life, leaving behind Bo.

Norbert is survived by his beloved wife, Laydene; their children, Judy (Dick) Petersen, Mary (Neil) Tomczak, Carol Squires, Jerry (Cheryl) Fliess, Rosalie (Raymond) Olszewski, Connie (Joel) Minton; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and 3 sisters-in-law.

Norbert was preceded in death by his grandsons, Eric Tomczak, Charlie Squires and Joel Minton, Jr.; infant grandddaughter; his parents; and six brothers.

Visitation will be at St. John the Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 17 from 3 - 6 pm with Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 6 pm. Burial at St. John the Baptist Cemetery will be private.
