Kenosha – Ralph Rueben Rommelfanger, Jr., aged 81, was called to eternal rest on April 17, 2024, at Aurora Hospital in Mount Pleasant, WI. Born July 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Ralph Rueben and Viola Mae (nee Giles) Rommelfanger, Sr.

Ralph attended Careers Industries and was a friend to many. His smile was precious and could put anyone in a happy mood immediately. A special thanks to Beverly who worked with him for many years and who he spoke of often.

Ralph was a man of simple taste. Ralph found the most joy in life's modest pleasures. He was an avid viewer of classic TV. All music especially Rock and Roll and Country. A weekly trip to McDonald's for a cheeseburger, French fries, and diet Coke no ice and chocolate sundae were his favorite. Ralph loved anything chocolate. In his youth, Ralph participated in the Special Olympics where he excelled at bowling and earned numerous awards.

Travel brought Ralph great delight, the many trips he took with Able Trek Tours, and multiple trips to the Dells and Branson, MO with his Care Home family. But nothing could compare to his once in a lifetime trip to Spain with his family/ guardian, Gretchen Bloss. This was his first and only time on an airplane and when he returned home, he would tell everyone that "he flew into space." A special thanks to Gretchen who went above and beyond to oversee Ralph's care. He truly loved her and considered her and her family his own.

Ralph leaves behind his loving guardian, Gretchen Bloss, caregiver of 21 years, Marsha Harrington, and his Care Home family. A special big thank you to Patricia Fellner and Sherry Garcia who enhanced his life in more ways than they know with their loving care.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his long-time guardian, Dorene Mangan.

As we say goodbye to Ralph, we will celebrate a life marked by kindness and love. We will remember his precious smile and how he made us better people for knowing him. We will miss you forever.

Visitation will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 11 am - 12 noon. Memorial service will begin at 12 noon.

Donations to Kenosha Human Services Development in Ralph's honor would be greatly appreciated.
