Salem Lakes, WI– Raymond Harju, 92, passed away November 3, 2017 after suffering with lung problems for 40 years. He was born June 25, 1925 to Samuel and Lillian Harju. He served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific for three years. Raymond was married to Louise Payton and they had three children. He later married Mary Eddington and they were married for over twenty years prior to her death. Raymond retired as an electrical engineer from OMC. He went on to retire from Hospital Laundry Service. Raymond moved to Salem, WI after retirement to be closer to his plane. Raymond loved flying and was well known as a pilot for many years. He loved golfing and bowling. He was a member of AOPA, EAA, and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.

Raymond is survived by his three children, Patricia (Larry) Morse, Ronald (Denise) Harju, and Jauren (Jim Sanato) Kelly; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and his sister, Helen Clark.

Per his wishes, private services will be held in Union Grove. Burial with full military honors will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
