It is with a profound sense of loss and celebration of a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Richard "Rich" F. Hendrickson, age 48, on February 1, 2025. Born on November 25, 1976, in Illinois, Rich left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him and his legacy will continue to resonate through his family and friends. Rich graduated from Union Grove High School Class of 1995. He married the love of his life, Gina Langridge in 2015, in a beautiful beach ceremony surrounded by family and friends. Rich was delighted to have recently received the sacrament of confirmation with St. Robert Bellarmine Parish.

Rich was a devoted husband to his beloved spouse, Gina Langridge-Hendrickson, and the proud father of five wonderful children: Zak (Veronica) Young, Chloe Langridge, Julian Langridge, Piper Langridge, and Richie Marlowe. He cherished every moment spent with his family—from lively gatherings and cherished Sunday dinners to thrilling Super Bowl parties. Rich was also a proud grandfather to his dear granddaughter, Izzy Young.

An accomplished carpenter, Rich shared his passion for craftsmanship as the owner of Hendrix Services. His talent extended beyond his work; he enjoyed building models and Lego cars, capturing the creativity that defined his spirit. Rich was known for his love of the outdoors, finding joy in camping and all things nature including gardening. He was an avid traveler and was always eager to go on a cruise or explore new places. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast, passionately rooting for his teams, the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Cubs; and the Chicago Blackhawks. As a father, he also exemplified leadership by coaching his son in baseball, a testament to his unwavering support for his children's dreams.

Rich's kindness was felt by everyone he met. He had a way of making others feel valued and important, leaving behind a legacy of compassion. He fought valiantly against colon cancer with the resilience that characterized his life, inspiring everyone around him with his courage and positivity.

In honor of Rich's vibrant spirit and the love he shared, a celebration of his life will be held on Friday, February 7, from 4pm – 7 pm, at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish on Saturday, February 8, at 11 am. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Richard are warmly invited to gather and share stories, laughter, and cherished memories in tribute to a remarkable man.

In addition to his cherished wife and children, Rich is survived by his parents, Jerome Hendrickson and Carol Williamson; parents-in-law, Patrick and Sandra Je Taime; siblings-in-law, Tami (Paul) Czajka, Greg (Melissa) Thompson and Colt; niece, Kayla; nephews, Nathan, John, Alex; aunts and uncles, Bobby Hendrickson, Rob Williamson, Harold (Sylvia) Williamson, Darleen (Ed) Geiser; sister, Jessica Rosario; nephew, Elliott; and many other cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by Gina's grandparents, Sherwin and Marcella Ehmke; aunts and uncles, Ben Williamson, Rose Williamson, and Betty Wilson.

His family takes comfort in the legacy of love and joy he established. Although Richard's presence will be profoundly missed, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Rich. You fought hard and lived fully, and your memory will forever remain a source of inspiration.
