Union Grove-Richard Kasprowicz, 80, passed away at his home with his family around him on September 29, 2023. He was one of nine children born to Peter and Antoinette (nee Gajeski) born March 1, 1943, in Strandquist, Minnesota. Richard was a proud Navy veteran serving from 1961-1965 off the coast of Japan on the SS Nicholas and later in Pearl Harbor. He looked forward to attending Navy reunions. After his discharge, he married Nancy Rose Blum. They had been married for 57 years and together they raised four children. He worked at the Post Office for ten years. After purchasing, expanding, and renaming R&R Club in Union Grove, he ran it for over 30 years. Richard was a long-time member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish. For the past 60 years, Richard was an active member of the VFW Post 7924 Kansasville helping with obtaining their building at the County Fair Grounds and developing group activities. Richard was a sports fan always rooting for Minnesota teams. He loved to talk about Westerns and his high school basketball career from Strandquist, MN. The most important thing to Richard was being close to his family and enjoying time with his children, grandchildren, and siblings.

Richard is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Rich (Sherrie), Todd (Jade), Scott (Lindsay), and William (Janine); grandchildren, Kayli, Aiden, Kali, Taylor (Kody), Samantha (Jarvis), Maxwell, Skyler (Cassie), Rylee, Noah, Shelby, Haven, Joshua, Ella, and Maverick; and great-grandchildren, Brody, Remi, and Blake. He is also survived by his siblings, Audrey, David, Betty, Dennis (Lori), Rita (Stan), Diane, and Paulette; siblings-in-law, Susan Kasprowicz, William (Janet) Blum, Robert (Joan) Blum, and John (Mary Lou) Blum; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry.

A visitation will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Friday, October 6 from 4 pm to 6 pm. Further visitation will be at St. Robert Bellarmine Church on Saturday, October from 10 am to 11 am with a memorial service to begin at 11 am. Burial with full military honors at Union Grove Memorial Cemetery will immediately follow.
