Robert John "Bob" Nechvatal

March 10, 1934 - January 1, 2025, age 90

Union Grove, Wisconsin

Bob was born in Muscoda, Wisconsin to Edward & Cecelia Nechvatal and raised on the family dairy farm in Fennimore, Wisconsin with four brothers and two sisters.  He joined the Army in 1955 and was stationed in Ft. Lewis, Washington as an airplane mechanic.  He met the love of his life, Kay Dailey, at a town dance and they were married on July 25, 1959 and celebrated 65 years last summer.  Bob worked with the Titan missile project in Wichita, Kansas 1962-65 and helped monitor the USAF during their training of the guidance system.  He went to work at J I Case Company in Racine, Wisconsin in 1965 as an electronics technician working in the test center on those big red tractors.  He retired in 1997 after 32 years and continued working for Case as a tour guide and met people from all over the world.  There is no one who knew more about the ins and outs of a Case tractor.  He loved driving a Case tractor and chisel plowing for Wilks Brothers.  Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and golfing.  He also enjoyed woodworking in his shop and always had a project going for the kids and grandkids. He was the father of three daughters Jill, Joy and Jodi and fondly known as "Bronco Bob" during their high school years starting when Jill's volleyball team went to the state tournament.

He came to know and gave his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and remained faithful and shined the light of Jesus every day. His greatest wish was and is that his family and friends know and have a personal relationship with Jesus and will be able to join him in Heaven. He and Kay are members of Racine Bible Church.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kay; daughters Jill (Bill) Fitzgerald, Pulaski, TN and grandson Brandon Lauber; Joy (Kyle) Gustafson, Monroe Center, IL and grandsons Cody (Annie) Christensen, Carl Gustafson and "favorite granddaughter" Alyssa (Christensen) (Ben) Eyster, grandsons Michael, Matthew and Andrew Eyster; Jodi Nechvatal (Todd Jung), Union Grove, WI and grandsons Chandler Meseberg and Justin Meseberg. He was blessed with two great-grandsons John and Jacob Christensen. Also brothers Ed, Jim, Tom and Mike and sister Mary Novinska and Kay's brothers Gary and Mark Dailey and sister Maxine (John) Hibner and many nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by sister, Betty Kroll.

Bob passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2025.   Celebration of life and family visitation will take place at Racine Bible Church, 12505 Spring Street, Sturtevant, WI, Wednesday January 8, 9:30am - 11:30am followed by the funeral service at 11:30 - 12:15. He will be buried with full military honors at the VA cemetery at 1pm followed by a luncheon and additional celebration and family visitation time back at Racine Bible Church.  Arrangements made by Miller-Reesman Funeral Home, Union Grove, WI.
