Bristol - Mr. Robert Michael ("Mike") Fassbinder passed away peacefully in his home on November 9, 2017 at the age of 65 after a battle with cancer.

Mike grew up in Grayslake, IL, one of twelve children. He attended Grayslake High School and was a leading defensive lineman for the Grayslake Rams. He and his wife Karen moved to Texas in 1977, where they raised 4 children and were active leaders in Spring Tabernacle Church. Mike founded Rainbow Painting Services, which he continued to run after the family returned to Illinois.

Mike was an avid golfer. When the weather was nice (or even sometimes when it was not) you could find him playing a round or two. He loved spending time with his friends and family and travelling.

Mike was a wonderful, supportive father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Karen (nee Shrimpf), his daughters Kelly (Reuben) and Krissy, his sons Michael and Marty (Cassie), his grandchildren Demi, Carli, Samuel, Anabelle, Brady and Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Arlene.

A celebration of life open house will be held at Karen and Mike's home on Sunday, November 12, from 1 pm – 6 pm, 8540 Chaucer Circle, E., Bristol, WI. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Save-a-Pet shelter in Grayslake.
