Ronald Eugene Baumann, age 83, passed away on March 29, 2025, at Aurora Mount Pleasant Hospital surrounded by his wife and family. He was born on February 14, 1942, to Eugene and Katherine (nee. Liesmann) Baumann. Ron graduated from Burlington High School in 1960 and served his country with honor as a Navy navigational quartermaster on an aircraft carrier. He was stationed aboard the USS Bennington.

After his service, Ron dedicated over 60 years to a fulfilling career as an over-the-road truck driver, a profession that allowed him to traverse the nation. His passion extended beyond the open road; he was an avid car racer, NASCAR enthusiast, and owned his own race car. Ron was a member of the Boltonville Gun Club, where he enjoyed hunting and spending time with friends.

Ron is survived by his wife, Karen Baumann; children, Kim Aquirre, Geri Jean (Robert) Krien, Rhonda Sue (Mo) Baumann, Sean Michael Casey, and Cody Anne (Aaron) Baumann; grandchildren, Lindsay, Sarah, Kyle, and Marcus; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Katherine Baumann; sisters, Kathy Winkleman and Karen Baumann; and special nephew Andrew Winkleman.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held on April 11 at 10 am at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
