Ronald H. Richardson (70), of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 5th, 2023.

Ronald, affectionately known as "Ron", was born to Melvin and Mary Richardson on January 18th, 1953 in Chicago, IL. He was a lover of music, history, literature, film, and culture. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy. He eventually made his career as a Chicago Police Officer for 16 years until his official retirement in 2016.

Ron was survived by his two children, Maryellen and David (Carolina), and his grandson Mateo. He is also survived by his brother Richard (Mary), his sister Linda, and many loving nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his parents Melvin and Mary.

Ron loved being a police officer, but he loved being a father and grandfather more than anything else. He also loved Baruch Spinoza, Universal Monsters, the Civil War, the Marx Brothers, WC Fields, Edgar Allan Poe, and Mark Twain. He will be remembered for his well-known sense of humor, his distinctive laugh, and his undying love for his family.

Ron's family will host a celebration of life at 12121 Talamore Blvd, Huntley, IL 60142 on Saturday November 4th from 11 am - 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in Ron's name.
