Kansasville – Shirley June Akina, age 83, passed away on August 6, 2023, at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa, WI. She was born in Illinois on June 11, 1940, to parents Joseph and Elizabeth (nee. Zsulya) Mannoia. She married Melvin Akina on October 27, 1984. Shirley loved the Lord with all her heart and was passionate about attending services at Journey Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafts, going to parties, and eating birthday cake.  Above all, she especially loved spending time with her family and was a beloved mother and grandmother. Shirley retired from AMC Chrysler Kenosha.

Shirley is survived by her children, Shelley (Terry) White, Jerome (Denise) Goodman Jr., Jan Marie Dunn, and Brian Jay Dixon; grandchildren, Leah Marie Goodman, Cali Autumn Dunn, Stephanie Ryckman, Katie (Danny) O'Brien, and Samantha (Thomas) Porter; great grandchildren, Mariah Ives, Levi James Jerome Myhlhousen, Avrie Porter, and Michaela O'Brien; brother, Victor (Kathy) Mannoia of Maui, Hawaii; sister-in-law, Nancy Mannoia; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Melvin; parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Mannoia; brothers, Thomas and Gerald Mannoia; sister, Dolly Mannoia; and niece, Angela MacDonald Mannoia.

Visitation will be held on August 16 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the funeral home with a service starting at noon. Burial at Union Grove Memorial Cemetery will immediately follow.
