Sylvia Ann (Jacobs) Martin was called to eternal life by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 25, 2025. She was born October 6, 1931, to Melvin and Ingrid (Kristengaard) Jacobs in Racine, WI. She graduated from Horlick High School in 1949. While in high school, she worked at Hotel Racine and Reed's Drugstore. On February 3, 1951, she married Conrad R. Martin and was married for 66 years. Before the birth of her children, Sylvia worked at the Telephone Company. Once her children were older, she worked part-time at Sears in the Paint Department.

Sylvia took pride in her home and always provided delicious meals for her family. She hosted many holiday gatherings and barbeques poolside over the years. Her home was always open to her children and grandchildren, and she always listened patiently and lovingly to their concerns and troubles.

Sylvia enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, winning at Bingo, and socializing. She adored the entertainment at St. Monica's. Her favorite was the Elvis Impersonator and the Oldies Bands. She liked to be upfront to enjoy.

Her 3 children survive Sylvia, Gary (Lisa) Martin, Lynn (Jim) Filipek, and Steven (Carol) Martin; her grandchildren, Colleen (David) Eland, Troy (Lisa) Filipek, Nick (Sarah) Martin, Logan (Rebecca) Martin, and Jacob (Sarah) Martin; eight great-grandchildren and her step-grandson, Major Richard Young. Her surviving siblings are John Jacobs (Arizona), Karen Weaver (Texas), Dale (Roberta) Jacobs (Nevada), and Andrea Sherman (California).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Connie, on November 5, 2017; her son, Thomas Martin, on November 19, 2022; and her grandson, Ryan Wiswell, on June 30, 2001.

Thank you to St. Monica's Assisted Living staff for enabling her to thrive in her final years and to St. Croix Hospice for their help in her final days.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 9:30 – 11:30 am. Prayer service will begin at 11:30 am. Sylvia will be buried next to Connie at West Lawn Cemetery on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 10:30am.

The family suggests that memorials can be made in Sylvia's honor to St. Monica's Assisted Living or St. Croix Hospice.
