Burlington- Thorvald Emil Christiansen, Jr., 82, passed away at Froedtert Hospital on January 23, 2023. He was born September 11, 1940 to Thorvald, Sr. and Gladys (nee Andersen) Christiansen in Racine, Wisconsin. He was a Washington Park High School Class of 1959 graduate. He married Joyce Nyiri and together they raised three children. Thorvald was a proud Airforce Veteran.

He worked as an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Company for 25 years.  In his retirement, he and Joyce found it in their hearts to open Willow Run Adult Family Home for Developmentally Disabled and At-Risk adults. They owned and operated Willow Run for nearly 28 years.

He enjoyed spending time gardening, watching Packers football, visiting with his grandchildren, and talking about cars and planes. Vacations to visit family and see the shows in Branson, MO were favorite times.

Thorvald is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce; children, Renee (Mike) Densmore, Cary (Beth) Christiansen, Eric (Misty) Christiansen; grandchildren, Wesley, Autumn, Hunter, Colton, and Remington;  siblings, Charlotte Krause, Joyce Dickey, Norleen Lloyd, and Terry (Cynthia) Christiansen; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers-in-law, Lowell Krause, Lew Dickey, and Bob Lloyd.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Sunday, January 29 from 2-4 pm. Memorial service will begin at 4 pm. Burial with full military honors will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Monday, January 30 at 10 am.
