Vernon Louis Johnson, 85, passed away October 11, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center - Mount Pleasant. He was born May 21,1939 to Albert and Elaine (Newbold) Johnson in Nevada. In 1958 he married the late Ann Eggleston in Winnemucca, NV and together they raised seven children during their 60-year marriage. Louis worked as a janitor retiring from Winnemucca High School. After retirement, he and Ann served a Mormon mission in Arizona. They moved a number of times during their life together and finally settled in Honeycreek, WI. Louis was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Elkhorn for over twenty years. He always loved dogs and had many in his lifetime. He spent his free time tinkering with watches and collecting belt buckles and pocketknives.

Louis is survived by his children, Vern Johnson, Louann (Tony) Matheny, Charles Johnson, Ivan (Kelly) Johnson, and Rex (Tonya) Johnson; eighteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He leaves behind his beloved dogs, Riley and Bear.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; children, Lynn Johnson and Grand Johnson; and his parents.
