Kansasville – Virginia C. Minor, 89, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove. Virginia was born April 1, 1927 in Barron County, WI to Norman and Amy (nee Andrus) Reed. She graduated high school from Rochester Agriculture School. On December 8, 1944, she married Thomas J. Minor in St. Lucie, Florida and together they raised twelve children. Virginia created a wonderful, loving home and nourished her children with her delicious cooking and devotion to them. Despite all her hard work at home, she found time to work outside the home. For a number of years, she was a cook at the Southern Wisconsin Center, then she worked on the line at Nestle, and later she was a caregiver at a group home in Racine. Virginia was an avid reader and Packer fan and loved gardening. She is well known for her quilting and for the past 15 years she and her daughter, Donna, have been making quilts for the residents at the Wisconsin Veterans Home.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Mary (Geoff) Downey of Lowell, WI, Dyanne (Karl) Rogall of Kansasville, Donna (Jim) Stigler of Union Grove, and Maggie "Darlene" Goodman of Jacksonville, FL; her daughters-in-law, Linda Minor of Rockford, IL and Marilyn Minor of Jacksonville, FL; her sons, Thomas (Fran) of Preston, CT, Richard (Joy) of Fruitland, FL, William of Antioch, IL, Douglas (Cindy) of Salem, Donald (Angela) of McIntosh, NM, and John (Carol) of Chardon, OH; 26 grandkids; 11 step-grandkids; 28 great-grandkids (and 1 on the way); and 25 step-great-grandkids; and her sisters, Sue David of Stanton, MI, June Gullbrand of Random Lake, WI, Arlene "Tooty" (Joe) Hill of Tullahoma, TN, Janet (Jack) Lauterbach of Shelbyville, TN.

Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom in 1996; their sons, Michael and Gerald; grandson, Gregory Rogall; great-granddaughter, Delaney Moran; her parents; her brother, Morris "Sonny"; and her sisters, Patricia and Marilyn.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 9 am – 11 am. Memorial service will begin at 11 am. Virginia's ashes will be scattered at sea off the coast of Florida at a future date.
