Seal Beach, CA- Walter J. Cieslak, 102, formerly of Delavan, WI, passed away July 17, 2023, in hospice care at Shining Bright Senior Care Home in Huntington, California. He was born August 1, 1920, to Walter M. and Mary (Borysko) Cieslak in Chicago, IL. He was an Army Veteran having served during World War II as part of the 52nd Signal Corp of the 829th Regiment. Walter moved from Chicago to Delavan and worked for the Sta-Rite Corporation eventually transferring to California before retiring after more than 25 years as an inspector for them. He was talented in clock and watch repair and was very involved with ham radios ever since his military service.

Walter is survived by his children, Wally E. (Cindy) Cieslak, Diane (John) DeBaere, and MaryAnn Markling; grandchildren, Walter T. (Jennifer) Cieslak, Mary (Matt) Barta, and Thomas Markling; and a total of 11 great and great-great-grandchildren.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Lottie Cieslak; and his brothers, Leo and Ed Cieslak.

Burial with full military honors will take place at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 1 pm.
