Burlington – Warren Kerner, 78, passed away on December 26, 2017 at his home, Willow Run Adult Family Homes. He was born November 10, 1939 to Lawrence and Mildred (nee Guntly) Kerner in Racine, Wisconsin. He lived at Southern Wisconsin Center and several other facilities before finally settling at Willow Run. He participated each year in Special Olympics in bowling. In 2017, he won his biggest trophy and had gone to State Competition in past years. He also won several personality awards from Special Olympics. Fishing in the Fox River was a favorite past time. Warren worked for several years at Careers Industries and was currently volunteering at Love, Inc. One of his favorite memories was a ride along with Burlington Police Department. He loved attending Able Trek trips to Branson, Missouri with his brother, Chuckie. Warren touched everyone who met him with his friendly, caring personality. He could make anyone smile. Warren was known for having his pockets filled with treasures and for squirreling away food for a snack.

Warren is survived by his brother, Charles "Chuckie" Kerner, Ronald Kerner, and step-brother, Larry.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Robert and Melvin.

Visitation will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 11 am – 1 pm. Funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Burial at Yorkville Cemetery will be at 2 pm.
