Union Grove- William J. Lauf, 91, passed away August 2, 2019 at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Nursing Home. He was born May 24, 1928 to Jacob and Margarete (Bogan) Lauf in Illinois, growing up in Mount Prospect. William served in the Army during the Korean War. Bill worked as an accountant and one of his favorite places to work was Field Museum in Chicago, IL. His hobbies included playing golf, putting puzzles together, and even doing spreadsheets! He most of all enjoyed being with his grandchildren and family. His excellent storytelling will be greatly missed.

William is survived by his wife, Geravaise; his children, Bill (Karen) Lauf, Peggy Anderson, Eileen VanEss, and Kathy (Ken) Best; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Church on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 10 am – 11 am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am to be followed by Military Honors.
